Concept Fields
1. Description
-
What it’s for: A description of the concept, hypothesis, or prototype — what is being explored and the current state of thinking.
-
What to include:
- What the idea or hypothesis is.
- What question it is trying to answer or what problem it is investigating.
- The current state of the investigation: what has been tried, what has been learned, and what the next step is.
- Update this field as the concept evolves — it is the primary record of the exploration.
-
Example:
"Investigating whether the Supplier API can be used to retrieve real-time stock levels, removing the need for a nightly batch import. Initial spike showed the API supports the required query but has a rate limit of 100 requests per minute, which may be insufficient for peak load. Next step: load test against rate limit with realistic transaction volumes."
