Awaiting My Approval
The Awaiting My Approval tab lists every specification in the project where you are named as an approver and your review is not yet finished.
Sign-offs are easy to lose track of: they arrive on somebody else’s specification, at somebody else’s pace, and nothing in your own task list reminds you they exist. This tab collects them in one place so a review never stalls simply because nobody told you it was waiting.
What appears here
An item appears when all of the following are true:
- you are named on it personally — not via a team or organisation;
- your role on it is Approver, not Consulted or Informed;
- your review is still open — the sign-off is Not started, In review, or Changes requested.
Sign-offs recorded against a Business Organisation or Delivery Team, and free-text approvers, do not appear here — those are recorded on the organisation’s behalf rather than being your personal action. Consulted and Informed parties never appear, because neither gates the review.
Reading the table

If you have more than one sign-off on the same specification — for example one per milestone — each appears as its own row, with the follow-on rows marked ↳ beneath the first.
Review states
| State | What it means |
|---|---|
| Not started | The sign-off has been assigned to you, but you have not opened it yet |
| In review | You have started reviewing and have not yet reached a decision |
| Changes requested | You have asked for changes. The specification stays in review until they are made and you approve it |
Once you approve or reject a sign-off, it leaves this tab — your part is complete, and the item moves on through its review cycle.
Changes requested is a blocking state. The specification cannot reach Approved while it stands, so it stays on your list until you resolve it — a deliberate reminder that the ball is still partly in your court.
Recording a decision
Click View on any row to open that specification. Record your decision in its sign-off section, together with any comments or evidence.
The tab does not let you approve directly from the list. That is deliberate — a sign-off is a judgement about the content of a specification, so it is made with the specification in front of you, not from a summary row.
Chasing other people
This tab is your own list. To see sign-offs waiting on everyone else, use Who to chase on the project’s Progress tab: the same outstanding reviews, grouped by the approver holding them up. It is built for running a review meeting, while this tab is built for clearing your own queue.
When the tab is empty
If you see “No items are currently awaiting your approval”, nothing in this project needs your sign-off. Approvals you have already given are recorded on each specification, and the project’s overall review position is on the Progress tab.
